2024 has already been tough.  So many animals are losing their homes, either because their family/person is losing their home, being evicted, or they simply can't afford them.  So many are just being abandoned on the street, as their person can't find a rescue (or even a shelter) to take their pet in.  Rescues are under great stress as they want to help, but they/we don't have the resources to help everyone that contacts them.  I lay awake thinking about what will happen to the cats that I was not able to take in.  It is not an easy life being in rescue, although it can be very rewarding at times.  Adoptions have gone way down since the pandemic, and also many of the rescues that do everything right (home checks/charging a reasonable adoption fee, etc.) are having challenges with some of the larger "rescues" giving pets to them for "free" or a very discounted price ($5.00), and losing an adoption to them.  This is simply not a good idea and we are not going to lower our standards and risk one of our fosters going to a bad place.  We spend a ton of money on veterinarian bills and that is what most of the donations go towards.  Plus, so far this year we have had 3 cats we're treating for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which used to be an incurable disease, but no longer is.  But the meds are VERY expensive.  So please consider donating to the Cat Posse and help us to help more homeless cats.  It's so heartbreaking for them to have to try to fend for theirselves outside.

Thank you for your compassion.

Always Grateful!,

Sharon Clark - Founder/Director: Cat Posse
